Government debt down and deficit up in eurozone and EU in second quarter 2017

The seasonally adjusted government deficit grew by 0.2 points between the first and second quarters of 2017 in the eurozone and the EU as a whole, while government debt fell by 0.1 and 0.2 points respectively in the two areas over the same period, according to a press release published by the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Tuesday 24 October 2017.
