05/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 4 October, a European Commission spokesperson confirmed the news reported by Reuters that Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has invited the leaders of the four Visegrad countries – Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia – to dinner in Brussels on Wednesday 18 October (ahead of the European summit) in order to try and appease tension. Juncker wants to preserve the unity of the 27 EU countries in the current times of Brexit and of considering how to refound the EU, his letter of invitation to the four Visegrad country leaders states. Budapest, Warsaw and Prague risk being taken to the European Court of Justice for not respecting the European mechanism for relocating asylum seekers from Greece and Italy. (SP)
