The European Commission announced in a press release that it launched a public consultation on 16 August, which will run until 17 November, on ‘how to make the food supply chain fairer.’
The public consultation follows the adoption on 25 July of a report on options being studied to improve the functioning of the food supply chain in terms of three issues (see EUROPE 11839), namely tackling unfair trading practices, market transparency and boosting cooperation among farmers.
