On Monday 21 August, the European Commission confirmed to EUROPE that 20 member states and 3 third countries had been affected by Fipronil contaminated eggs. This scandal is now the subject of a criminal investigation in Belgium and the Netherlands and will be on the agenda of a special meeting on 26 September next.
