05/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 4 July, MEPs gave their approval to the conclusion of a framework agreement between the EU and Kosovo establishing the general principles of Kosovo's participation in EU programmes. According to Ulrike Lunacek's (Greens/EFA, Austria) recommendations that were adopted by the Parliament, "the conclusion of the framework agreement will pave the way to the gradual opening of certain EU programmes to Kosovo or to the strengthening of the country's participation in these (...) but also to the consolidation of political and economic relations in favour of the stabilisation and association agreement". Kosovo's participation in the EU programmes will strengthen its European outlook, as well as bilateral relations, the recommendation adds. (CG)
