ESMA fines rating agency Moody's

Brussels, 01/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 June, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) handed down fines of €750,000 to Moody's Germany and €490,000 to Moody's UK, two companies of the Moody's group. It found that the companies' publication of 19 ratings over the period between June 2011 and December 2013, as well as the methodologies used for these ratings, were in breach of EU legislation.
