31/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 31 May, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini announced that an EU delegation in Kabul was fully mobilised and ready to help the member state representations affected by a terrorist attack in the centre of Kabul earlier that day. The French and German embassies have been affected by the explosion, which has left at least 80 people dead. Mogherini stated that the EU would continue to support all steps towards peace and reconciliation, as well as the functioning of Afghanistan's institutions. "The European Union stands by the Afghan authorities and all Afghans, united in fighting this global threat of terrorism", she added. (CG)
