European Parliament overwhelmingly backs new cross-border portability rules

Europeans subscribing to online films and series will be able from 2018 to access content while travelling or temporarily living in another EU country.  On 18 May 2017, the European Parliament endorsed a compromise to this effect negotiated with the Council of Ministers on cross-border portability (see EUROPE 11721).

The future regulation will allow people living in Europe to take full advantage of their subscriptions to Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Prime, Spotify and Deezer while...
