During the evening of Monday 27 March, the members of the European Parliament's committee on economic and monetary affairs all welcomed the Commission's proposal to bring the VAT rates for electronic publications (e-books, online press) into line with the reduced rates already applied to physical publications. They called for a swift agreement on the text.
