Following Rome celebrations, NGOs want action from leaders for a 'sustainable Europe'

The 60th anniversary celebrations of the Treaties on Saturday 25 March are now over and the heads of state or government from the EU27 have their work cut out if they are going to keep the promises made in the Rome Declaration. According to the environmental NGOs affiliated to the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) , the first of these promises begins with Europe and its “sustainable development” goals (see EUROPE 11754).
