European Parliament highlights sustainable development shortfalls in trade agreement with EU

In a non-binding draft resolution compiled by Adam Szejnfeld (EPP, Poland) and adopted by 33 votes in favour, with 4 against and one abstention on Tuesday 21 March, the European Parliament's international trade committee hails the good results of the EU-South Korea free trade agreement in terms of growth in bilateral trade, but it deplores the shortfalls in sustainable development, criticising the persistent violations of labour rights in South Korea.
