MEPs criticise Council's lack of openness on organic farming

The chair of the European Parliament’s agriculture committee Czeslaw Adam Siekierski (EPP, Poland), speaking in Brussels late in the afternoon of Monday 20 March, criticised the lack of openness which he feels the Council of Ministers of the EU is showing in negotiations on organic farming (see EUROPE 11742).

The next trialogue meeting on organic farming is due to be held on Wednesday 22 March and it is difficult to know if any progress will be made.
