17/03/2017 (Agence Europe) – The EU will back the adjustment of the Tunisian justice system to the digital age, it announced on Wednesday 14 March at a workshop entitled ‘La gestion électronique des documents et l’accès à la justice: le chemin vers la justice numérique’ jointly organised in Tunis by the EU and the UN. The project is part of the European programme PARJ (Programme de réforme de la justice tunisienne), launched in 2013. Important support can be provided to the information system and it is important to improve the efficiency of the justice system, explains the EU, adding that it will depend on progress in implementation of EU-backed reforms. The EU delegation to Tunis says the third phase of PARJ is being prepared with a budget of €60 million, noting that the formulation of a new public policy in the justice domain is decisive for consolidating the democratic transition in Tunisia.
