EU invests €34 million in education of child refugees in Turkey

The European Union has decided to invest an unprecedented €34 million in a 'Conditional Cash Transfer for Education' (CCTE) UNICEF project to improve access to education for thousands of child refugees in Turkey, announced the European Commission and UNICEF on Thursday 16 March.

The project is covered by a contract with UNICEF. Starting in May 2017, it will provide bimonthly cash-transfers to vulnerable refugee families whose children regularly attend school. The project will be...
