07/03/2017 (Agence Europe) – The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) has said it wants to make women the focus of its action, and on Monday it announced a project on promoting women's empowerment for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the Mediterranean/Middle East region. "Over the course of the next two and half years, the project will help improve the economic inclusion of women by exploiting the immense potential of female entrepreneurs in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. It will also create favourable conditions for inclusive and sustainable growth", the UfM states in a press release on Tuesday 7 March. The project will have a total budget of €4.5 million. It will partly be supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and partly financed by the Italian government. (FB)
