Commission authorised to negotiate new fisheries agreement with Guinea Bissau

28/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 28 February, the Council of the EU adopted without debate a decision authorising the European Commission to open negotiations on behalf of the European Union to renew the Fisheries Partnership Agreement between the EU and the Republic of Guinea Bissau (see EUROPE 11714).  The current agreement is due to expire at the end of 2017.  It allows EU ships, mainly from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and France, to fish in Guinea Bissau waters.  This is a...
