MEPs write to Theresa May to discuss fate of Europeans in UK

10/02/2017 (Agence Europe)Ten members of the European Parliament from different political groups have written to the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, to express their concerns and fears that many British and European citizens have put before them regarding the withdrawal of their country from the European Union, Sylvie Goulard (S&D, France) said in a press release. The vote of 23 June will also affect nearly 3 million EU citizens living in the United Kingdom, who did not vote. Many of these citizens of other member states have been living in the United Kingdom for years or even decades, the MEPs stress, reminding May that her decisions would affect their fate as they would all other British citizens. Claude Moraes (S&D, UK), Sophie in't Veld (ALDE, Netherlands) and Yannick Jadot (Greens/EFA, France) are among the other signatories of the letter. (SP)
