Political agreement confirmed on directive strengthening 'Protection of EU's financial interests'

07/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 7 February, the Council confirmed the inter-institutional political agreement reached in December 2016 on a directive strengthening the protection of the EU's financial interests (see EUROPE 11686). The objective of the legislative text is to improve the fight against European budget fraud and increase recovery of embezzled funds.
