07/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – The Lorenzo Natali Media Prize, named after a former development commissioner has just been launched and will accept applications until 10 March, the European Commission announced on Tuesday 7 February. The Prize is open to professional and amateur journalists, broadcasters and bloggers who report on development issues. “This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Lorenzo Natali Media Prize. I encourage journalists to enter the competition and share their powerful stories with us and rest of the world”, said International Cooperation and Development Commissioner Neven Mimica. The winners, from each of five regions (Europe, Africa, the Arab World and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America and the Caribbean), will receive a prize of €5,000 at a ceremony during the 2017 European Development Days. The Prize has been launched on social networks under the hashtag #TellMyStory. (AN)
