07/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 February, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini announced that she would visit the USA the same week. Her visit is expected to take place on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 February and Mogherini is likely to meet the US national security adviser Michael Flynn, the White House adviser Jared Kushner and also deputies and senators. Meetings could take place with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defence James Mattis, but they have not yet been confirmed. If they do not take place in Washington, these meetings could take place in Europe in the next two weeks as Mattis and later Vice-President Mike Pence are both due to the travel there. Mogherini said that she expected to review all subjects, especially climate change, the Middle East, Syria, Libya and Ukraine. (CG)
