In an own initiative reports by Ines Ayala Sender (S&D, Spain), MEPs have called on the European Commission to prepare a European freight logistics strategy. The report was passed on Thursday 19 January by a comfortable majority of 520 votes to 68, with 79 abstentions.
Concerned at the growing number of barriers slowing the flow of freight within the internal market, MEPs highlight in the report “the need to formulate a renewed EU strategy for freight logistics”.
