EU invests €65 million to help poor people in Zambia access electricity grid

The European Commission announced on Thursday 19 January that access to reliable, clean and affordable electricity services is to be provided to at least 63,000 households, or about 300,000 people, via a programme for improving access to energy financed to the tune of €65 million by the European Union

This will be done through the rehabilitation and expansion of the low voltage electricity distribution network in selected low-income areas of Lusaka City with high population density.  The...
