On Friday 13 January, European shipowners, represented by the ECSA (European Community Shipowners’ Association) welcomed the first European list of facilities that are deemed able to recycle decommissioned vessels safely and in an environmentally sound manner, published by the European Commission at the end of 2016, in line with EU rules (see EUROPE 11693).
