Final hurdle crossed for visa regime

12/01/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 12 January, the European Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee (LIBE) endorsed the compromise reached with the Council on 13 December to grant Georgian nationals a visa waiver regime (see EUROPE 11188).  With 42 voting in favour, 2 against, with 1 abstention, MEPs agreed that Georgian nationals will be allowed to travel in the Schengen area without a visa for a maximum renewable period of three months.
