14/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 December, the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, decided to postpone the action programme for growth and jobs until January 2017. The press conference of Vice-President of the European Commission, Jyrki Katainen, and European Commissioner for the Single Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Businesses Elżbieta Bieńkowska, which was initially due to have been held on Wednesday 14 December, has therefore also been postponed. These decisions follow an in-depth guideline debate of the College of Commissioners of the European Union on the various elements of this dossier. In light of this debate, Juncker decided that the College would return to this dossier at its first meeting of 2017, in order to ensure that all of the elements of this package are sufficiently taken into account, so as to ensure an appropriate balance.
