08/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 8 November, the European Parliament’s civil liberties committee gave its approval of six visa-free travel schemes for five countries in the Pacific, the Parliament stated in a press release. Passport-holders of Micronesia, Kiribati, Tuvalu, the Solomon Islands and the Marshall Islands will be able, once the procedure is completed, to travel to Schengen countries without a visa for periods of up to three months, renewable up to 180 days. The Parliament now needs to confirm this vote in its plenary at the end of November. (SP)
