Payment appropriations down by €7.2 billion for 2016

08/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 8 November, the Council of Ministers of the EU adopted without debate (with the abstention of the United Kingdom) its position on draft amending budget no. 4 for 2016 (see EUROPE 11650), with the effect of an increase of €225.4 million in commitment appropriations and a drop of €7.27 billion in payment appropriations (thereby taking the equivalent amount off the member states' contributions for the 2016 financial year).
