11/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – Europeans’ breakfasts are full of chemical products according to the French organisation, Générations Futures. In a study published on Tuesday 11 October, the organisation asserts that non-organic packets of muesli contain pesticides that are suspected of being endocrine disruptors. The study focused on 20 packets of fruit and mixed muesli, of which 15 were non-organic and 5 came from organic farms. It concluded that the packets from organic agriculture are healthy, while the non-organic packets contained an average of 9.4 of pesticide residues. This is the equivalent to 141 residues, of which more than half (57.44%) could be potential endocrine disruptors. A spokesperson for the organisation stated: "Each new report carried out by our organisaion demonstrates the urgent need to take action". (SPj)
