In the light of the destruction left by hurricane Matthew, which has killed a thousand and caused huge damage in Haiti, the EU decided on Friday7 October (in the evening) to provide aid for the survivors in the form of both humanitarian and civil protection.
The devastated island is fearing an outbreak of cholera and the EU has released an additional €1.5 million in emergency humanitarian aid to provide shelter, drinking water and healthcare to the survivors.
