19/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – Between 160,000 and 320,000 demonstrators marched in seven German cities - Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart and Leipzig – on Saturday 17 September in protest at the EU-Canada free trade deal (CETA) and the plans for an EU-United States free trade deal (TTIP). According to an Ipsos poll, 52% of Germans feel that free trade weakens social standards and allows the import of products that are damaging to health. Between 10,000 and 15,000 demonstrators are expected at the Schuman roundabout and rue de la Loi in Brussels from 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday 20 September for a protest against CETA and TTIP, according to an announcement from NGO CNCD 11.11.11 on Monday 19 September, In addition, anti-CETA and TTIP activists will occupy the Schuman roundabout on Tuesday to Wednesday night as part of the 'Nuit debout' movement.
