15/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 September, the European Union welcomed the agreement reached on 10 September for a mutually agreed solution to the "current political impasse in Guinea-Bissau" and called on all the parties to implement it. In a press release published by the European External Action Service (EEAS) spokesperson, the EU pays tribute to the decisive role played by the presidential mission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in finding a possible way out of the crisis. The press release explains that "all the different political actors in Guinea-Bissau must now demonstrate good faith and implement the agreement to guarantee stability, operational functioning of the institutions and economic recovery". It should be noted that the agreement calls for "inclusive dialogue" to draw up a two-year work plan and "the formation of an inclusive government based on consensus". (AN)
