Dalai Lama calls on Europeans to discuss Tibetan cause with China

On Thursday 15 September, the Dalai Lama called on Europeans to discuss the situation in Tibet with the Chinese authorities.

During a foreign affairs committee hearing at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the Dalai Lama explained that he had taken his political 'retreat' in 2001 but that the"Chinese should finally understand the problem of Tibet has to be resolved in a reasonable way because it will never simply disappear with a wave of a magic wand.
