08/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 8 September, the General Court of the EU upheld the fines handed down by the European Commission to the Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck and a number of producers of generic drugs for involvement in the agreement to delay the market launch of the generic version of the anti-depressant Citalopram (joined cases T-460/13, T-467/13 and T-469-472/13). In 2013, the Commission fined Lundbeck €93.8 million and the other companies €52.5 million (see EUROPE 10870). The General Court found that all of the companies were potential competitors when the agreements in question were concluded and that these constituted a restriction of competition by object. (JK)
