26/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - Lux Prize candidates announced. The three films shortlisted for the 2016 Lux Prize were unveiled on Tuesday 26 July at the Venice Days event. These include the following films: “À peine j'ouvre les yeux” on the daily lives of young Tunisians; “Ma vie de courgette”, the story of a small boy living in an orphanage and “Toni Erdmann”, a political tragicomedy examining contemporary corporate culture. The Lux Prize is awarded every year by the European Parliament to the best examples of European cinema made available to the public at large, which go beyond language and cultural barriers. The three shortlisted films will be subtitled in all official European Union languages and shown in more than 50 cities and 20 festivals across Europe. The prize winner will be announced on 23 November and Strasbourg. It will also be adapted to those with hearing and sight impairments and promoted internationally. (SPj)
