24/06/2016 (Agence Europe) - Copa-Cogeca fear Brexit upset on markets. In response to the vote in favour of Brexit, the EU agricultural organisations and cooperatives (Copa-Cogeca) underlined the need to avoid any additional upsets on the European agricultural markets. They explained that more than half of British exports of foodstuffs and drinks went to the EU and that the British market represented a big exports market for foodstuffs and drinks from other member states. Pekka Pesonen, the Secretary-General of the Copa-Cogeca concluded "We will work hard to ensure that the farming community in the EU or the UK are not the ones to pay the price for international politics and the impact on trade is minimised".
