On May 3 in Brussels, MEP Jytte Guteland (S&D Group, Wseden), Eurogroup for Animals and the Intergroup for the Welfare and Conservation of Animals organised a conference on the theme of "Sustainable, profitable and welfare-friendly dairy farming in the EU: the ways forward". The speakers presented some of the challenges associated with the increasing industrialisation and enlargement of dairy businesses, and offered examples of successful and sustainable alternatives from the ground.
