Parliament-Council deep-water trawling talks to resume on 24 May

Brussels, 04/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Inter-institutional negotiations on deep-water trawling are entering the home straight (see EUROPE 11509).

The Commission, the Dutch Presidency of the Council of the EU and Parliamentary rapporteur Isabelle Thomas (S&D, France) met on 26 April to discuss the relatively sensitive issue of deep-water trawling. Two final trialogue meetings are scheduled for 24 May and 12 June. The aim is to reach agreement at the last planned trialogue.
