04/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Mr Manservisi has become the Director-General of DG DEVCO, with Ms Panzetti replacing him as Head of Cabinet for Ms Mogherini. On Wednesday 4 May, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, announced the appointment of her Head of Cabinet, Stefano Manservisi, to the post of Director-General of the Development and International Cooperation Department (DG DEVCO) at the European Commission. This Italian national is 61 and will take up his position on 16 May. He joined the Commission in 1983 and previous posts have included Head of Cabinet for European Commission President, Romano Prodi, and former Director of Directorate General Internal Affairs. He will be replaced by Italian national, Fabrizia Panzetti, 47, who will take up his post as Director of the High Representative's Cabinet and who has already been working in Ms Mogherini's Cabinet, where she was in charge of Internal Affairs and Migration, the Rule of Law and Relations with the European Parliament. Ms Panzetti previously worked at the European Parliament, including a position with the socialist group there. (CG)
