On Thursday 21 April, the Council approved the EU-San Marino agreement on the automatic exchange of information on the financial accounts of each other's residents. The exchange will begin in 2017. The agreement translates the global standard of the OECD on the automatic exchange of information. In compliance with this new agreement, the member states will receive the name, address, tax identification code and date of birth of their residents possessing accounts in San Marino, as well as other information on their financial situation and the balance of their accounts.
