18/04/16 (Agence Europe) - Industry digitalisation package published 19 April. The European Commission's non-legislative package seeks to provide assistance for industry, researchers and the public authorities, so that they can take full advantage of new technologies. It will be presented on Tuesday 19 April. It is based around four communications on the following themes: the European strategy for digital industrial leadership; - the creation of a European research cloud; - the development of common standards in priority areas such as 5G mobile telephony; - an action plan on online administration. It will also be accompanied by three working documents (on the Internet of things, high yield information technology and quantic technologies). The European Commission is hoping to mobilise €50 billion over the next five years in order to facilitate the digitalisation of industry, of which two thirds is in the hands of the private sector.
