01/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Hahn hopes to be able to make a positive recommendation to open accession negotiations by end of 2016. On Wednesday 30 March, the Commissioner for Enlargement Negotiations stressed to Albania that it must adopt the reform of its legal system before the summer break and start implementing it from this summer if the Commission is to be able to recommend that accession negotiations be opened before the end of 2016, his spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic, told EUROPE. “Commissioner Hahn stressed that, if Albania fails to deliver in the upcoming months, the Commission will not be in a position to recommend the opening of accession negotiations before the end of 2016”, she stated to EUROPE, when asked about the timetable of Hahn's action plan (see EUROPE 11522), which was referred to in his meeting with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in Tirana on 30 March.
