21/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - Aerospace research centres association set up in Brussels. On Monday, 14 March five European aeronautical research centres: ONERA (France), DLR (Germany), CIRA (Italy), INTA (Spain), and the NLR (Netherlands) announced the setting up of the Association of the European Space Research Establishments (ESRE) in the aerospace domain. ESRE would like to become a future hub of enhanced cooperation between the main public research centres, particularly with regard to the constellation of small collaborative satellites, future launchers (particularly reusable launchers) and satellite greenhouse gas surveillance. The organisation will represent the voice of bodies in this field among the European institutions and governments and will seek to promote a joint R&D approach in the space domain. A first meeting has been planned with the Directorate General Internal Market and Industry at the European Commission next summer, explained ESRE. (PH)
