03/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - Pablo Zalba Bidegain to be joint rapporteur for EMIS committee of inquiry into Volkswagen scandal. According to a Parliamentary source consulted on Thursday 3 March, MEP Pablo Zalba Bidegain (EPP, Spain) is to be the second joint rapporteur for the Parliamentary committee of inquiry into the Volkswagen affair (see EUROPE 11503). The other is Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy (ALDE, Netherlands). Zalba Bidegain is the deputy chair of the economic and monetary affairs (ECON) committee and also a member of the special committee on tax rulings (TAXE 2). Krisjanis Karins, the initial candidate for the post of joint rapporteur, will remain group coordinator within EMIS. (PH)
