Irish farmers call for import taxes on fertilisers to be lifted

Brussels, 29/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - Irish farmers, in Brussels on Monday 29 February, called for customs duties and import taxes on fertilisers to be abolished, arguing that the prices being charged by the fertiliser industry are exaggeratedly high.

The Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) welcomed the findings of a study conducted by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) which concludes that EU farmers would have much to gain were the EU to decide to abolish import taxes...
