On Thursday 18 February, the European Commission announced the protection at EU level of the first protected geographical indication (PGI) for Cambodia - Poivre de Kampot pepper. For Turkey, the dried figs Aydin Incriri (PGI) are the second Turkish product protected at EU level. The EU now recognises 23 geographical indications from third countries, out of a total of over 1,300 registered products. (LC)
