08/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - Ukraine appoints new representative to EU. On Friday 5 February, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko appointed Mykola Tochytskyi to the post of Representative of Ukraine to the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium. Tochytskyi, who hitherto had been Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, replaces Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, who has become Deputy Head of Presidential Administration in Ukraine. Tochytskyi, 49, a fluent English, French and Russian speaker, has already working Brussels, having been Second Secretary at the Ukrainian Embassy in Belgium from 1995 to 1998. (CG)
