27/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Juncker pledges to challenge all forms of anti-Semitism. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jean-Claude Juncker promised that the European Commission which he leads would do all in its power to fight the rise in anti-Semitism whether instigated by the far right, the far left or extreme Islamists. “We are determined: Never again. Because a Europe of hate is one that we refuse. Because a Europe without Jews would be no longer Europe”, he stated in a press release. This international day, on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp, commemorates the Nazi genocide of 6 million Jews, 2 million gypsies, 250,000 handicapped people and 9,000 homosexuals.
