20/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Rutte opposed to financing EU-Turkey action plan on migration through a European tax on petrol. At a European Parliament press conference in Strasbourg on Wednesday 20 January, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the idea of financing the EU-Turkey action plan, intended to stem the flow of migrants to the EU, was “not the logical path to follow”. This idea was voiced last weekend by Germany's Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaüble (see EUROPE 11470). (MB)
