Brussels, 14/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 14 December, the European Commission presented a new online platform which will, for the first time, provide information on the five European structural and investment (ESI) funds.
Hitherto, the platform dealt with cohesion and regional funds. Now it will also cover the European agricultural fund for rural development (EAFRD), the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF) and the youth employment initiative budget line.
The easier-to-use platform is divided into four headings. The first provides information on approved funding and the objectives sought by European structural and investment funds. The second sets out the contribution made by the funding broken down by issue, the third broken down by country and the fourth by fund.
The update is in line with arrangements set out in Article 16 of the regulation on the funds (1303/2013) which calls on the Commission to draft a report on the outcome of negotiations on partnership agreements and programmes, by member state by 31 December (see other article).
