Brussels, 07/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 4 December, the European Commission adopted France's EMFF (European maritime and fisheries fund) operational programme for 2014-2020.
France has chosen to place the emphasis on implementation of the common fisheries policy (CFP) that was reformed in 2013: managing fish stocks in line with maximum sustainable yield (MSY), removing remaining capacity imbalances, improving the selectivity of fishing gear in order to avoid discards, sustainable aquaculture, improving knowledge of fish stocks.
The total French operational programme budget will be €774 million over the seven years, €588 million of which will come from EU funding. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
